Hello everyone!

Please join Greater Seattle for our next meeting on Tuesday, March 12th, in Room 204 at Pacific Medical Center located at 1200 - 12th Avenue S in Seattle's Beacon Hill neighborhood. The meeting will start at 7:00pm followed by a CE course from 7:30-8:30pm.

The CE topic will be "Ozone Therapy in the Dental Office" with speaker Dr. Jim Coleman. Dr. Coleman is a retired dentist who had a long time practice in the Burien area. Come learn about this alternative treatment modality for sensitive teeth, caries and infection. It promises to be an interesting evening!

And thank you to all who attended the Student Dinner last month! It was a great evening with students, many vendors, Ann Lynch (ADHA Governmental Affairs Director), WDHA Officers, and our speakers.

Hope you all survived the snow. We look forward to seeing you next Tuesday!

Update on Continuing Education Credits

Washington State dental hygienists are required to have proof of 15 hours of CE per year for re-license. The courses must relate to dental hygiene. No specifications are made that limit on-line courses.

The clinical dental team must also have BLS for health care providers certification by the American Heart Association.

If you are audited, you need at minimum two years of proof of continuing education.

CE benefit for members

The greater Seattle Dental Hygienists' Society provides, as a member benefit, several free continuing education credits every year. CE courses are offered in conjunction with general meetings, volunteer events, and as a week-end CE course.

Check the general meeting information on this page or the GSDHS calendar for exact dates.
